Keeping My Enemies Closer: Pt. 1

What do you do when your enemies are too close to home?

Make them pay any way that you can.

Kasimir
As the youngest son to the Pakhan of the Korolev Bratva, Kasimir Korolev played his own part in the reigning of his family’s empire, and it was a role that he embraced happily. Bloodthirsty in a way that should be psychologically clinical, his father and older brother had no problem letting him loose on the world, and they especially had no problem unleashing him on their enemies.

So, when his family is betrayed in the worst way, he sees no issue with going after all of those involved, even if they’re only guilty by association. After all, he doesn’t know how to do anything by half-measure and making an example of their enemies is one of his most favorite things to do. As long as he’s able to draw a breath, he’ll always be ready to avenge his family at all costs.

Zoya
As the only child of a single mother, Zoya Kuzmin understood how important family was. Having been abandoned by her father, and with her grandparents living in Russia, her mother was all that she had, and there wasn’t anything that she wouldn’t do for her. After all, despite being a single parent, her mother had done her best by her, and so she owed her.

So, when her uncle does the unthinkable and brings evil to their doorstep, she has no choice but to help see her mother through the worst of it. Even though they are innocent, that hardly matters. After all, Satan doesn’t care about right versus wrong, good versus bad, or innocence versus guilt. He only cares that he’s paid what he’s owed, even if it’s a price that she can’t afford.

When you can’t outrun what’s coming for you…
Never had Kasimir imagined that he’d become so obsessed with his latest target, but that’s where he finds himself when Zoya Kuzmin enters his life. Though she can be considered innocent of her uncle’s crimes, that doesn’t stop him from making her life a living hell.

Never had Zoya imagined that she’d end up in Kasimir Korolev’s crosshairs, but she has, and in the city of St. Moran, there is no escaping the Korolev last name. Though he is considered to be the embodiment of Satan himself, he doesn’t seem eager to kill her just yet.

Now, while both Kasimir and Zoya are embroiled in a deadly game of cat and mouse, neither is expecting a third player to emerge so recklessly, and when they do, their dangerous game of chess turns into something much more deadlier than they had anticipated.
