Subduing the Shark
Detective work taught Harold one thing: the people who need finding most are the ones who’ve stopped expecting anyone to come.
He knows what Jack is. A shark. One of the men who helped kidnap his best friend’s partner. A predator who served his time and walked into Kinky Kritters to work off a debt that can’t ever really be paid.
He also knows what Jack is underneath, someone who flinches at every touch, who goes silent and still when he’s cornered, who has never once in his life been wanted instead of used.
Harold isn’t supposed to want him. He’s going to anyway.
No rope. No rules Jack didn’t choose. Just a patient hound who’s decided to love a shark until the shark believes he’s allowed to be loved.
