Find Me in the Storm
Love doesn’t wait for the perfect storm, and when lightning strikes, they’ll either weather the winds and prevail together or succumb to the turbulence and be blown apart.
Shay Rooney, a legend in the PWHL, was set to be the best goalie of all time until a horrific mid-game accident ruined everything she had worked for. She’s avoided the rink for the past two years and has no idea who she is without skates on her feet. When her mentor offers her a position as a goalie coach for the New York Nighthawks, she knows it’s time to either face her newfound fears of the ice or move on for good. But moving on from what happened is nearly impossible with social media constantly haunting her, and deep down, she knows her heart will always belong to hockey.
Matt MacArthur knows what it takes to get to the top, especially as a goalie for the Nighthawks. He’ll do whatever’s necessary to be at his best: for the cup, for the team, and for the fans who he’s always leaned on for support. His superstitions and strict routines help him keep his illusion of control, but an unexpected reality check leaves him devastated. After a heartbreaking loss, the media and fans seemingly abandon him, and he’s forced to turn inward for strength, finding fears and insecurity he thought he’d long escaped.
Accidentally stumbling upon one another in their most vulnerable moments, Matt and Shay realize there’s an intense connection brewing between them, something much deeper than just player and coach. At the rink and on the road, their attraction becomes an undeniable distraction that neither can ignore. When turmoil rains down around them, will they be able to survive the storm?
