A Good Enemy

General Kirstos Vargarra, the head of Prince Mikos’s personal Imperial Guard, has arrived on the planet Moravia, to inspect this “neutral” area set aside in the ancient, isolated palace for an important meeting. It’s a highly anticipated confrontation between Prince Mikos and his brother, Prince Larz, which promises to be explosive and probably ugly and has been a long time coming. They’ve been at each other’s throats for years, ever since Mikos arrived to rescue Larz from captivity on the planet Laltana and found to his complete disgust that Larz had fallen in love with his captor. Now Larz, after continual interference and arguments with his family over the years has left Laltana, refusing to come home to Tygeria and, even worse, refusing to return as Laltana’s Governor. Since the vital post was given to him by their father, Mikos furiously responds by calling Larz a traitor.

Only a short time after he arrives on Moravia, the general finds an arrogant, impossibly good-looking young thief rifling through his bags and decides to teach him a lesson he won’t soon forget. To make a bad situation even worse, he learns that the “thief” is actually Larz’s only son, Taran. A violent, unexpected storm soon strands everyone on Moravia, and in the middle of the first meeting between the brothers, the lights blink out and Taran is stabbed. When the murder attempts keep coming with alarming frequency, Kirstos faces a near-death experience of his own, and he finds to his utter dismay that he is also in terrible danger of falling in love.

Fate sweeps Kirstos from his comfortable life into an uncertain future–a transfer to Laltana and an unexpected love for the gorgeous, totally unsuitable, impossible Taran along with a chance at happiness that he could never have imagined.
