Juliet Crawford doesn’t do anything by halves, so when her perfect life implodes, it does so spectacularly. In the span of a few weeks, she manages to lose her job, her apartment, and her relationship. Staying with her maddening mother is not a long-term solution, so with few options, she moves to the charming, monster friendly town of Harmony Glen, where her cousin Maggie lives.

It doesn’t take long for Juliet to settle into a fresh routine, complete with a job at Moonbeam Books, the delightful bookstore run by Spenser Nightwing, a quiet and reserved mothman. Though she loves the work, Juliet is puzzled by her boss, who often seems her opposite: taciturn to her talkativeness, nocturnal to her sun-loving nature, solitary to her need for friends. Despite their differences, late-night inventory sessions, baking experiments, and evening adventures eventually shift their working relationship into something new and exciting.

With her apartment and job locked down, and romance with Spenser on the horizon, Juliet finally feels her life settling into place again—just in time for someone from her past to arrive and make her evaluate everything. With the chance to revisit her old life, she has to decide: does she want to go back to what she once thought was her dream? Or has she actually found everything she ever truly desired in Harmony Glen—and in Spenser’s arms?
