Danielle Slater is out of options. Suffocating under an arranged marriage and Earth’s iron grip, she answers an ad for a nanny and lies her way into the job. She arrives on a remote frontier colony expecting strange. But she doesn’t expect Andrek.

Seven feet tall, purple, and winged, the former Torzi warrior captain is nothing like the monster he appears to be. And Pip, the small, blue-furred, six-limbed infant in his care, is unlike any child Dani has ever seen. She has no idea what she’s doing, and Andrek knows it.

But when an unexpected crisis forces Dani to comfort Pip alone, a psychic bond makes her the baby’s permanent caregiver. As the walls of professionalism crumble between Dani and Andrek, and stolen glances turn into something undeniable, Dani’s past refuses to stay hidden. When Earth comes to drag her back, Andrek offers her the one thing that can keep her free – himself.

She escaped from a cage and fled to the stars. She never imagined she’d find a home among them instead.
