Princess Adeline longs for the day she can ascend to the throne and bring about peace between her kingdom of Kelverny and the neighboring kingdom of Lalsacia. Only her warmongering grandfather, the current king, and the law requiring her to marry stand in her way.
When her grandfather is mortally wounded, Adeline must marry quickly before her grandfather arranges for her to marry the man of his choosing, a man who will keep her under his thumb as surely as she’d been under her grandfather’s. Her only other choice? The enemy lord her grandfather tossed in the dungeon.
Prince Lorne of Lalsacia isn’t sure what to think when the princess of Kelverny proposes marriage. She doesn’t know she’s proposing to a prince instead of a mere lord. Despite his secret, this could be his best chance for bringing about peace.
