Sean O’Malley has his heart set on marrying Maeve Donahue. Aye, she’s a wild Irish lass to be sure. And why does he think he can strut back into the village and rush her down the aisle? She’s just gotten her first taste of freedom, did she want to give it up, and to a man who believes ’tis a husband’s right to take his wife to task over his knee if she misbehaves? For Maeve, there’s no ‘if’ involved. It’s more likely ‘when’ and that could easily be every day with her temper.

She’ll have to decide what’s more valuable to her, freedom to do as she pleases, or the love of Sean O’Malley.
