Stand Beside Her

Crois St. Cyr & Harmony Morgan

Crois St. Cyr is a lucky guy. He’s got a job with the Center City Police Department that he likes. He has a great partner on patrol. He’s got friends on and off the force. So what is he missing? He doesn’t know… he just knows there’s something off. And it bothers him. A lot.

One day he’s on his apartment’s balcony and he sees a big fluffy blond head, a golden retriever, looking back at him.

He fell in love. No, not THAT kind of love, but who couldn’t love a big fluffy doggo? He bought a toy and sent it across the parking lot on an antique laundry line.

That’s when he saw her, the woman who had the dog he wanted.

Harmony Morgan was an EMT stationed out of Station House 29. She had no idea that Crois lived in the same complex that she did. And she’d always thought that Crois was a little smug and self-assured, two things she definitely was not.

But when he sent a toy to her rescue dog, Daisy?

That was nice. It made her smile. So she sent over a ‘Thank You’ note. And an invite to come to the dog park to meet Daisy.

The man who showed up in jeans and a Henley shirt cooed and scritched her pupper into bliss, and turned her opinion of him upside down.

The more time they spent together with Daisy, Crois even began to dog-sit on the nights when she was on a long shift at the firehouse. Crois finds himself pining after Harmony as much as Daisy does. He’s fallen for the pretty EMT and at his height, it’s a long, endless fall.

Everything seems great until Harmony receives threats at Cole Medical & Station House 29 related to the death of a patient that she transported in Ambo 19. Suddenly, Crois’ personal and professional halves are merged and he needs Harmony to know that no matter what, he’ll be there to stand beside her.
