Axe Daddy
My book deal got cancelled, I had to leave the city, and now I’m literally lost in the middle of nowhere. And just when I thought life couldn’t get any worse, he shows up…
I thought I was living the dream in the city. Twenty-four-years-old and with my career as an author in the ascendancy. But a vindictive agent brought it all crashing down. Sigh. I needed out of the city, but I’m really wondering whether I needed to go this deep into the great wild outdoors?
Kaleb Ruhst is forty-three, gruff as anything, and comes with a body carved out of the same wood he spends his days chopping down in Hardmount Valley Park. While Kaleb undoubtedly is hot, he doesn’t do company, barely talks, and as far as I can tell he really doesn’t like me at all. Urgh.
But try as I might, I keep running into Kaleb as I try to settle into my new rural life. Maybe it’s the spectacular scenery, fresh mountain air, or the intense electricity that sparks every time we bump into one another… but our differences melt away when I find myself over Kaleb’s for a spanking so loud it echoes across the valleys.
Soon, Kaleb is helping me find my feet and regain my confidence. He wants me to pick up the pen and start writing again. And he’s got a whole set of strict rules that he promises me will help make things right—and if I don’t obey them, I know exactly what kind of stingingly hot punishment will be in store for me.
It’s not all punishments though. Beneath his super-gruff exterior, Kaleb has a surprisingly tender and cuddly side too. Cue: stuffies, snuggles, and warm milk before bed. The only question is how long it will be before we give in to our urges and end up in bed together?
It wouldn’t be my life though without a plot twist or two to put the happy ending in real danger of never happening. And maybe that’s just too much for a true mountain man like Kaleb to handle…
