My mother named me Patience, but I’ve never lived up to that name. I’m wild and impulsive on the best of days and reckless on the worst. I can’t seem to help myself or keep myself from getting into trouble, and trouble just walked in the door looking too dangerous and tempting to pass up.

I want a fresh start and a break from my life, and Brook Cove is the perfect spot to hide out and reset. A man could get lost living outside a sleepy little town. Nobody would ever look for me here, and I can live my days in peace and quiet until it’s time for me to go back to Seattle to testify.
