Dead…Serious About You

I was already getting divorced.
I did not plan on killing my husband.

Catching him cheating was bad enough. Going after him for alimony made it worse. Worse as in now I’m standing in the middle of the forest with a dead body, a full-blown panic attack, and the sudden realization that I am spectacularly unqualified for murder cleanup. It was self-defense—I swear—but then I screwed up. I moved the body, and now I’m trying to drag a grown man through a national state park alone.

That’s when Crew shows up.

He’s a forest ranger with cold blue eyes, rough hands, and the unsettling calm of a man who’s done this before. He says he owes my dad a favor. He doesn’t ask questions. He just takes control—and helps me make the problem disappear.
Then we hole up in a remote ranger outpost to make sure it stays gone. Because, apparently, this is my life now.

It’s supposed to be temporary. Strictly survival and definitely not sexy. But there’s a dangerously intense attraction that feels just as illegal as everything else we’ve done.

I didn’t mean to kill my husband. I definitely did not mean to get tangled up with the man who helped me get away with it. But if falling for Crew is a crime? I’m dead serious about committing it.
