A reckless swim, a ruined reputation…an unexpected romance.
Miss Alice Kellaway never expected her peaceful seaside holiday to turn into a battle for a gentleman’s affections. But when she and her dearest friend, Charlotte, both set their sights on the charming and mysterious Jonathan Croft, Alice is no longer willing to step aside in favor of Charlotte’s ambitions.

Convinced both women are after his fortune, Jonathan keeps his distance…until he no longer has a choice. When an ill-fated swim finds Alice and Jonathan caught in a compromising situation, she finds her reputation in ruins. Bound by scandal but divided by resentment, Alice and Jonathan are thrust into a marriage neither desired. Tempers flare, but beneath the battle of wills, an unexpected attraction becomes difficult to ignore. Will their forced marriage transform into something deeper, or will their love be swept away with the tide?
