One night ignited them. Now desire refuses to let go.

Everyone believes Sven will never settle—that the golden-haired warrior lives for pleasure and leaves hearts in his wake. But they don’t see the truth burning beneath his easy charm. Sven craves more. He craves her.
After one blistering, unforgettable night with Eahlswith—the brazen Saxon beauty who trembled under his touch even though she mysteriously disappeared in the morning—Sven knows he’s found the woman he could build a life with. Passion, tenderness, a future… he wants it all with her.

But Eahlswith is bound by memories. Once promised to another man, she clings to a ghost, determined to honor the love she lost before it ever had the chance to bloom. Giving in to the fierce desire Sven awakens in her feels like a betrayal—of her past, of herself, of the man she never wed.
Still… her body remembers him. The way he held her. The way he kissed her. The way he made her feel alive for the first time since grief swallowed her whole. And when Sven is near, resistance becomes a battle she cannot seem to win.

Sven made her one promise: he will wait. He will fight for her. He will prove that passion is not a sin, and that loving again doesn’t erase the past—it honors the living. But waiting does not mean he will keep his distance… not when every glance, every touch, every stolen moment threatens to pull them both under.

Now Eahlswith must choose: hide behind the life she lost… or surrender to the man who could set her free.
