Roses aren’t romantic. They’re cliché, boring, predictable—as overrated as heart-shaped boxes of assorted chocolates and bubble bath gift baskets. When my friends drag me to a ladies’ day out potting party with a rose garden theme, my sarcastic humor takes root fast—especially when the instructor turns out to be a no-nonsense, grumpy landscaper. Gorgeous, but definitely not my type.
