A truth for a truth?
Becoming a father was never part of the plan, but then a one-night stand shows up with a three-month-old baby girl and completely upturns my life.
Now I’m a single dad and I have no idea what I am doing.
I need help, so when a friend suggests hiring a nanny, I jump at it.
And then she walked through my door.
Sloane and I have never really seen eye to eye, but there’s no denying how good she is with my daughter.
Now we spend every day together, and I’m starting to realize that the hard-shelled woman is harboring secrets and I want them.
But more than that… I want her.
When a threat is made against her, she has no choice but to move in with me and the more time we spend together, the harder it is to deny how much she’s crawled under my skin.
But with all these secrets between us, the foundations are crumbling and once everything is done falling, what will be left of us within the ashes?

Sloane
But only these secrets can keep me safe.
For months I have lived a lie, pretended to be someone I am not and for months it has kept me safe, but I’m running out of money, and I desperately need a job.
Even if the job comes from a man I really want to avoid.
He sees things I want to hide, makes me feel things that threaten the sanctuary I have created for myself.
When everything comes crashing down around us, I have no choice but to turn to him, and the longer we spend together, the harder it becomes to hide who I really am.
Are my secrets safe with him?
Or will the past come back to find me?
