I’m hiding in a closet at a high school party when a stranger stumbles in. It’s completely dark in the closet so I have no idea who he is, but he’s easy to talk to and he’s secretly gay, just like me. I might not know what he looks like, but I’m drawn to him, and we share one incredible, heart-stopping kiss before he quickly leaves.
I know I’ll probably never see him again but I can’t stop thinking about him, so I post a notice at school to try to find him — and he replies. Soon we’re exchanging letters and meeting in a pitch black room to make out and fool around. He’s one of my classmates but I don’t know who, and to be honest, I don’t care. All that matters is I can tell him secrets I’ve never shared with anyone else.

Hooking up with a stranger in a spare room at school is a terrible idea, but I can’t make myself stop. Ever since I moved to a new school because my mum got a job as the principal, I’ve felt lonely and he’s the first person who truly understands me.
Even though we’re just having fun, I want more of him. I want to see him in the light, I want to know his name, I want to hold his hand in public, I want to spend time with him without sneaking around. But we’re both afraid. What if, when we reveal our identities, everything goes wrong?
