A Second Chance Christmas

Adam took Frank’s role and did it to the best of his ability. Nothing stopped him from protecting James Washington, not even discovering he had a son that his own brother had hidden from him. Adam overcame all hurdles and ploughed forward, one of James’s trusted friends.

Then the war came. People died in a war that shouldn’t have happened, not on American soil; others were injured. Adam should have lost his leg; a miracle saved it. But it left him with months of physical therapy and, finally, a limp. Adam was less than he’d ever been. Bitter that he wasn’t the man he’d been before the war, Adam retreated into himself, and not even his wife and children could reach him. Because without his job as James’s bodyguard, just what is Adam?
The Black Cat has seen its fair share of drama, including a battle to beat an uber vampire and a wannabe vampire. Lady Catherine was content to haunt the Black Cat, named for her, and to watch over her beloved Benedict and his wife, Mariah. Their love for the Black Cat had them staying three days a week at the inn, and the rest of their time was spent at the family home.
Benedict and Mariah were dealing with their own difficulties. Personal desires and dreams are nearly destroying them as they face bitter disappointment. In seeking comfort, they returned to the inn for a break from reality, looking to heal and find comfort in where they began.

Lady Catherine has her hands full dealing with not just one wounded couple but a wounded family, too. Can she create enough Christmas magic to heal some deeply wounded souls? One can only hope so, because the alternative is unthinkable.
