Eight weeks.

One bad boy hockey player.

Zero chance I’m walking away unscathed.

Sports Illustrated just handed me the assignment of a lifetime–shadow Kai Morrison, the NHL’s most notorious enforcer, and write the profile that finally exposes the real man behind the penalty box.

There’s just one problem.

Kai Morrison hates reporters.

He’s grumpy, hostile, and built like every bad decision I’ve ever wanted to make. And thanks to turbulence at 30,000 feet, a hotel mix-up, and one kiss I definitely shouldn’t have let happen, I’m now closer to him than any journalist should ever be.

My job is simple. Get the story, protect my credibility, launch my career.

But nothing about Kai is simple. Not the way he looks at me like I’m both his biggest threat and his next obsession. Not the heat in his voice when he growls my name like a warning I won’t heed. And definitely not the way he kisses like he’s already decided which rules are worth breaking.

Eight weeks of exclusive access.

One dangerously off-limits hockey player.

And the story that could make my career might be the one I can never writer because the headline I’m chasing is the man I’m falling for.
