The only thing worse than her dog… is the man trying to take him away.

Journalist Caprice Phipps is no stranger to heartbreak—two years ago, she lost the only man who ever mattered. Since then, she’s been head down, chasing leads, too busy building her career to dwell on past regrets. But her coping skills hit a wall when she receives an unexpected gift from her lost love—his dog.
Dog trainer Drew Forbes can’t understand why his brother left Rufus, a war dog that meant everything to him, to the woman who drove him to end his life. Cold-hearted Caprice has no business owning a chihuahua, let alone his brother’s military-trained Belgian Malinois. But when Drew demands Caprice hand Rufus over, he’s shocked by her unequivocal no.
Caprice hates dogs almost as much as she hates Drew Forbes, the man who turned his back on his brother. But when Rufus wreaks havoc on her life, jeopardizing the biggest story of her career, she finds herself crawling to Drew for help. And he’s only too happy to prove his point. But working together unleashes feelings—about the past, and each other—that could change everything Caprice and Drew believe.

This book can be read as a standalone in the steamy, emotional Unmatched Series. If you like Abby Jimenez, Colleen Hoover, or Tessa Bailey, you’ll love what this enemies-to-lovers story does to your heart.
