I never wanted to be some sort of a hero. I do want to be everything to Della Crest, starting by being the father of her baby.
Life in the small town of Driftwood is not all that exciting. As a sheriff’s deputy, I don’t see a lot of action here, but I still feel as if I am doing some good. When ballsy and beautiful Della Crest blows into town, I know two things. One, she is the most action anyone has ever seen here in Driftwood. Second, I do not want to tame her wildness, but I do want her tied to me—with a baby and my last name.

Being loved for nothing more than my face or my figure has made me a little bitter. When a bad breakup turns ugly, I run for the hills. Who will find me in Driftwood. Except, the deputy finds me on my first day in town and if I understand him right, he wants to come to my rescue. I have gotten myself in some trouble again and Dole is nothing like the bad boy I am running from.
