Brooklyn thought she’d found the one when she met the handsome officer. He was everything any woman would want: caring, thoughtful, and protective. Being a cop suited him. After a whirlwind romance and getting pregnant within a year, she thought she would have the life she always dreamed of.

The dream slowly shattered once she moved in, and his true colors gradually showed. After several years of things getting progressively worse, and more violent, she realized she had to leave, if for nothing else, for her daughter.

But with no means to get out, she was left at his mercy, and he was not forgiving. Nobody believed her and nobody would help. It wasn’t until a chance encounter with a kind woman that she had the opportunity to finally break free.

Bama was a simple man. He’d been up the road, but nothing major and it probably wasn’t the last time he’d go. When he got out, a childhood friend offered him a spot in his new club and the chance to help him build it up. Wanting more for him and his sister, he headed to Mobile to start a new life.

What Bama didn’t expect when joining the MC was taking in a desperate woman and her child. They had ways to help women and children in those situations, and he knew exactly who to call. Even if the club couldn’t help, he wouldn’t turn them away. The longer they stayed, the more Bama found himself feeling a sense of fullness he didn’t know he was missing, and the need for vengeance on their behalf.

When her past catches up with her, Brooklyn fears she may never be able to get away from her nightmare. But Bama will do anything to keep her safe, even if it means losing everything.
