In the wake of loss, half-nymph Lilliana Faelynn navigates her grief as an outcast, living on the edges of society from those who might shun her fae heritage. Isolated on the farm she’s known all her life, Lilly finds fragile solace in a realm facing prejudice and a war being waged against fairy-kind by a new ruler heralded as the Fairy Butcher. The solitude ends when she stumbles upon a wounded knight in the woods and rushes to save his life. The mysterious knight calling himself Ren charms the lonely farm-girl, quickly sweeping her into a whirlwind of desire she didn’t know was possible.

Their passion burns bright and fast despite the secrets they both keep. Lilly tries to keep her head and resist the ache in her heart, knowing that one day their tryst will end. But Ren embodies temptation and provides the companionship she’d lacked. Despite the fae-blood she fears stains his hands, Lilly can’t resist his charm. Until the day knights arrive on her farm, bowing to Ren, and revealing him to be the one man she should fear most, sending their relationship and Lilly’s life into unknown danger.

Consumed by his growing obsession, King Soren Carnifex has Lilly summoned to the capital following his departure from her farm. Plunged into a world of political intrigue centering on the war, Lilly must navigate a treacherous path as she hides her fae heritage and struggles with her desire for the darkly alluring king.
