The Lab: Rigg

My father would come back from the dead and die a second death if he knew what I’m doing with my abilities. I promised him that I’d be safe and play the role of human, and I did… until I came across a couple stray pups that were more than your typical shifters. They were also products of The Lab, and they needed me to care for and protect them while they grew up. That was easier said than done.
Growing up in the shadows, I didn’t have what anyone would call a good education, and my skills were…untraditional. Being able to wear someone else’s face wasn’t exactly the stuff of resume dreams, but I did what I could with the hand I was dealt. Working off the books for random jobs covered some of our expenses but not enough. That required more creativity—along with my ability to shift into any person I wanted.
Tonight’s mark is some sketchy guy from the internet who’s looking to get laid. Instead of losing his load, he’s gonna lose his wallet to me. But as I walk into the bar where we planned to meet, everything goes wrong when I scent my mate. Or maybe everything goes exactly right.
