Rhodes to Love

If all Karima Henderson had to worry about was barrel racing and loving her family, she would have the perfect life. Unfortunately, she knows that isn’t the case. While she loves her life and family, things tend to get emotionally taxing at times. Allowing herself to be used by God also weighs on her, but she wouldn’t have it any other way. Helping people is something she has a passion for. That passion propels her to move to Nashville to accept a position where she feels she can fulfill her potential while also fulfilling her calling by obtaining a family counseling degree. However, after reconnecting with an old friend, things get heated in more ways than one, and she abandons her plans and moves back home to be surrounded by family and people that love her.

Rhodes Woods’s life’s course has caused him to endure heartache. Due to no fault of his own, he is forced to abandon the life he knows in Oakland, California and move to a rural area of Southeast Texas, known as Cheek, as a teenager. Adapting to a new way of life is difficult for him, but it becomes less strenuous the moment he meets Karima Henderson. He falls in love with everything about her, despite her placing him in the friend zone. His whole purpose in life is to convince her she should be his. Years go by after a hiatus between them, and when they are reconnected, they seem to just pick up where they left off. He knows he can’t let her get away from him again, so he throws caution to the wind and suddenly moves to Nashville to prove to her that she’s his everything.

Karima and Rhodes have their entire lives ahead of them and seem to be getting along well, but somehow, desperation and fear rear their ugly heads, and they cause Rhodes to act irrationally. Not knowing how to handle what becomes of those actions, causes Karima to retreat. Hurt and anger fuel her decisions, and the familiar sting of heartache hardens her. Can Rhodes make things right with Karima or has he lost her once and for all?
