Writing Daddy Dom romance is my job. Leading the Naughty Girls Book Club, where we swoon over possessive alpha males? That’s just a bonus. But finding a real-life Daddy Dom? That only happens in my books.

At least, that’s what I thought—until KC, my gruff, Army Special Forces neighbor, knocks on my door with a ridiculous request. His meddling mother is coming to town, and he needs a fake girlfriend to keep her from setting him up with someone appropriate. In exchange, he’ll take me to my favorite bookstore for a shopping spree—because apparently, the way to my heart is through romance novels and bribery.
I say yes, but I’m not prepared for how real KC makes this arrangement feel. The way he grips my waist in public, how he leans down and murmurs warnings in my ear when I get too sassy. And when his mother jokingly asks how he keeps me in line, KC just smirks and tells her, Don’t worry, I have my ways.
Oh.
Maybe playing pretend isn’t such a great idea after all—especially when I find myself breaking his rules on purpose, just to see if he’ll follow through. Spoiler alert: he does. And when I end up over his knee, gasping as he makes good on his promise to correct my bratty behavior? Yeah… I might be in trouble.
