Missy Morgan just wants to be happy.

When she became pregnant, all her friends disappeared one by one, closely followed by her abusive ex, and she had never felt so alone. Now for the first time in her life, she’s found a group of friends who accept her as she is and want to support her in making something of her life.

When her new best friend Cara invests in Missy and buys a hair salon and apartment for her in Forest Falls, Missy is ready to move to the small town to build a new life for her and her son, if only the grumpy but gorgeous vet next door, who thinks he has a claim on her building will let her get on with it.

Nick Barber’s family have lived in Forest Falls for generations, every one of those generations has lived up to their name and taken charge of the grooming of the townsfolk, owning the only barber shop there has ever been, passing it from father to son, until Nick. Shirking tradition, Nick followed his heart to become a vet, opening a clinic right next to his father’s shop.

When Barber Senior retires, Nick expects to inherit the building, what he doesn’t expect is the feisty new owner, Missy, who seems determined to turn is life upside down, in every way possible.
