Months after the Ravening destroyed her world, Krystal had found herself without family or home, with nothing but memories of better days to comfort her. With the growing frequency of concerning behavior from fellow survivors, she makes the decision to return to her uncle’s cabin that she’d frequented every summer and the only place where she had any remaining happy memories. Although she has small hope that a surviving member of her family made their way there, she is surprised to find a stranger dwelling there amid a magical garden that had sprung up within their woods.
Syrix is an engima and unlike any other man she’s ever met, and with far more secrets than she can even begin to guess at. Friendly, yet unabashedly sly, he is like some creature born of magic with the way he masters enchantments and spells and even seems to be capable of communicating with the foxes he surrounds himself with. He might just be a fox in the chicken’s coop, but he is one that she must depend on when a monstrous lamia targets her for her next meal.
In a world where the impossible is reality, magic conceals much, and changes everything it touches. But amid the garden, and under the moonlight, it has neither the power nor capability to conceal or change that which lies in her heart.
