Jasper Cassidy was seventeen when he met and fell in love with Elara Hayes.
She was twenty-nine.

When she started dating his older brother, famous snowboarder, Shepherd Cassidy, they broke his heart, causing a deeper rift in the brothers’ already complicated relationship that they struggled to repair over the next five years. Until the night Shepherd died in a snowboarding accident during a trip back to their family’s ski resort—an accident that shouldn’t have happened.
Now, six months after the funeral, Elara is back in town after Jasper’s guilt from that night and for loving her pushed her to leave. But Elara has her own guilt about that night. And in their grief, she tells him she needs them to be them—friends.
But everything has changed.
His brother and her boyfriend is gone, and Jasper can’t feel guilty for his feelings and needing more. And as moments from their past start to nudge, seemingly innocent looks and touches and slips of her tongue, he lets himself believe that if he hadn’t been a teenager when they met, she would’ve picked him.
Even moments now tell him deep in her heart, he’s there too.
Jasper’s love for Elara was born in the spring.
And maybe, maybe her love for him will surface in their winter.
