When Kaitlyn Miller discovers she has a teenage sister she never knew existed, her carefully curated life begins to unravel. Running from the revelation of her mother’s long-kept secret, she finds refuge with her free-spirited aunts in Key West, where she hopes to hide from her past. Instead, she discovers her future.

As she volunteers at Paradise Harbor House, Kaitlyn finds unexpected purpose helping families rebuild their lives. But when her sixteen-year-old sister Sarah shows up unannounced, determined to forge a connection, Kaitlyn must confront the very truths she’s been avoiding. With the support of documentary filmmaker Will Moreno, whose lens captures more than just her story, and her unconventional but loving family, Kaitlyn learns that sometimes the most beautiful relationships are the ones we never saw coming.
Set against the colorful backdrop of Key West, this heartwarming novel explores the complexities of family secrets, the power of forgiveness, and the courage it takes to open our hearts to new beginnings. As Kaitlyn navigates the delicate balance between the family she was born into and the one she’s chosen, she discovers that paradise isn’t a place—it’s the people who help us find our way home.

A moving tale of sisterhood, second chances, and the families we create when we’re brave enough to let love in.
