When perfectionist Victoria takes a job a million miles from her comfort zone, she learns that sometimes you have to go to the middle of nowhere to find exactly where you belong.
Victoria Griffin doesn’t recognize herself anymore. Feeling unmoored after breaking her engagement and blowing up her career, she’s desperate for a reset. When her best friend offers her a job at a kids’ camp in the Blue Ridge mountains, she hopes it’ll be precisely what she needs to put her life back together.
Instead, it’s a disaster. Victoria was prepared to be humbled by nature and challenged by super-smart tweens—she was not prepared to be co-counselors with Noah Valentine, her old college crush who broke her heart.
Unlike Victoria, Noah’s perfectly at home in the wilderness, a hero to the kids, and radiates laid-back confidence—all while making her knees buckle with his smoldering gaze. But he’s completely off-limits because of the number one staff rule: no fraternizing.
Victoria’s solution? Pretend they’re strangers. Pretend that sharing a tent with Noah doesn’t light her up like the Fourth of July. Pretend her heart doesn’t melt when he challenges her to do the hardest thing of all: to let herself be loved, just as she is.
