Ava Calligan
For almost nine years, I’ve juggled multiple jobs while raising my younger sister, leaving little room in my life for the magic of Christmas I once loved.
When a new job reconnects me with Derek, the ex I never really got over, our attraction is undeniable, leading us into a complicated no-strings-attached relationship.
As the holiday season unfolds and we share kisses under the mistletoe, I’m drawn back into the warmth of a love I thought I’d lost forever. But he’s broken my heart once before, and my head keeps telling me: I don’t need anyone. I can manage on my own.

Leaving Ava was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. She’s the only woman I’ve let break my heart. Over our years apart, I’ve failed to move past her, so when she becomes the new photographer’s assistant at Blue Vista Events, I’m determined to keep my distance. However, when I learn she no longer finds joy in Christmas, I quickly fall into old habits, making it my mission to help her reignite her holiday spirit.
As the twinkling lights and festive activities bring us closer, I begin to wonder: can I make her believe Christmas isn’t the only thing she can learn to love again?
Maybe we didn’t work before, but with the magic of the season on our side, why not now?
