Jack wakes up to find himself in a difficult position. He has no clothes, no phone, no money.
And no memories.
Recovering from serious injuries, and being held without answers in the Infirmary of Eastward Prison, he is desperate to discover the truth. Why won’t they let him go? Why can’t anyone tell him what happened? What game is he caught up in? It’s hard to play the game when you don’t know the rules, and one thing he knows is that he doesn’t want to play nice.
But there is one thing he does have. Hannah.
The bombshell nurse who barely leaves his side. Who features in all his flashbacks. Who sets his soul, and his skin, on fire like nothing else ever has. Hannah, also, isn’t in the mood for playing games anymore. Facing the threat of blackmail, she finds herself in an equally tight spot. Time’s up, she has to make her move, but she’s been dealt a bad hand.
Until Jack drops into her lap, complete with his Reaper’s MC tattoo, his horrific injuries, and his gruff bedside manner. He has to stay at Eastward, he isn’t safe anywhere else.
He’s dangerous. He’s angry. And he is her perfect “get out of jail free” card.

Jack and Hannah are both playing to win, but a game can only have one winner. When Jack’s memories start to return, and Hannah finds herself at the centre of a treacherous gang war, can they work together and play fair? Or will their lies send the pack of cards tumbling down?
