A Simple Love

Victoria:
I’ve put my love life on hold to focus on college, and now that I’m finally done, it’s time to find my happily ever after. When Mike approaches me, I figure he’s finally going to ask me out after all these years. We’ve pined after each other growing up, and five years ago he asked me on a date, but then stood me up. Devastated and heartbroken, I wrote off boys then, but now I have no excuse holding me back from putting myself out there. I want to hear what he has to say. And just when I think he’s going to stand me up again, another man swoops in and offers me what Mike hasn’t. So I decided to give him a chance, but not without Mike demanding he gets one too. I go from dating no one to two men at the same time. My head and heart can’t handle it. Falling in love should be easy, especially when your heart knows what’s right. But is anything ever that simple?

Mike:
I’ve loved Victoria Baker since I was ten, but something in my soul told me I wasn’t good enough for her. Add on the fact that her dad chased me off the first time I asked her out, I knew that time had to eventually be on my side. When she finally finishes school and I feel worthy of her, I seize the opportunity to start our future, but I act a little too late. Now she’s dating me and some other guy, a guy I actually used to like. Not anymore. I try to remain calm and optimistic because there is no doubt in my mind or anyone else’s in our small town that Victoria and I are meant to be together. I’ve loved her since I was ten, so making her see that should be so easy, right? Will time be on our side now, or will fate throw another wrench in our plans? I love her, it’s that simple. But sometimes, life and love are anything but simple.
