Christmas was around the corner, and they were getting the Inn ready for the big day. Only Brit McCoy had one problem, she wasn’t in the festive mood because she was living a lie.
It all started with a dinner date that went wrong. She knew it the second she was whisked away in a car to an old emu farm in Pearl Lake, a tiny lakeside village. Once there, she was stripped of all her belongings and forced to endure a tortuous life. Until one day, she’s saved by one of the Petersen twins, Lane. But it wasn’t him that caught her eye as he tossed her out the window. It was his brother, Luke, who captured her in his arms as she fell.

When she’s offered a job at the Inn, she gladly accepts but makes a vow to herself to never tell a living soul why she ended up in the village. But hiding her secret is getting hard especially when weeks later, the police show up with questions about her captor. Fearing her new employers would fire her if they knew about her past, she lies and tells the police she was a guest at his house, in hopes they drop it.

Luke Petersen was living the life. Single, handsome and had his dream job. A video game tester. He would never get rich from it, but there were benefits, including beautiful women who had his non-existent money on their minds. The problem was as soon as they realized he was living paycheck to paycheck, it was sayonara.
That was until he met Brit McCoy. He was dazzled by her from the second she fell from the sky. Under normal circumstances she would have been ‘the one,’ but something was off about her.
