Angel's Whisper
They prepared for the bride. It was customary to do so in prearranged marriages, for the benefit of familial business. Valentina Conti, first daughter of the Conti family, was scheduled to marry Alessandro Esposito, the first son of his family. It was business, a business arrangement. Valentina knew her plight as she had been groomed for it since her birth. Submissiveness and sacrifice for the greater good was her fate. But she fought against it silently and then openly. And Valentina’s fight cost her.
Yet, there was one willing to pick up the mantle and do what Valentina couldn’t; make the ultimate sacrifice for her family’s good – Isotta. Although she hates the tradition of submission, Isotta’s rebellion isn’t as strong as Valentina’s. Isotta was second in line, never to be first but the circumstances put her front and center. Massimo Conti was decided by familial power to be her groom. He was not ignorant to Isotta’s reluctance but gaining power was Massimo’s concern.
