After stopping at my place so I could pack a bag, we headed to Carter’s house.
“Everyone is waiting for us down at the beach,” Carter said.
“Did you text them and tell them we were back?”
“Yeah. They wouldn’t stop blowing up my phone.”
He grabbed a couple of beers from the refrigerator and my hand. We walked out the sliding door and headed down the beach as we heard the shouting, clapping, and whistling coming from his family.
“There they are,” Grayson shouted.
“You two are officially a couple now?” Riley ran up to us.
“We are, Riley.” Carter grinned.
“That makes me so happy.” Riley hugged me.
“Are you mad at us?” Piper pouted.
“No. How could I be mad at my sisters.” I smiled as I hugged her and the rest of the girls.
“We’re stealing her, Carter,” Jenni said as she grabbed my hand.
“Okay. I love you, babe.” Carter’s lips met mine.
“I love you too.” I smiled as the girls whisked me away.

Carter
“Look at you, bro.” Gabriel hooked his arm around me. “You’re happy.”
“I am. I’m very happy.” I smiled.
“Welcome to the world of love.” Simon held up his beer. “I told you it wasn’t such a scary place.”
“Shut up.” Sebastian reached over and slapped the back of his head.
“Do that one more time, bro, and I swear to God I will take your ass down.”
“Oh yeah.” Sebastian stood up from his seat. “Let’s go, bro. It’s been a long time.”
“You’re on.” Simon stood up and faced him.
“You two sit your asses down right now!” Aunt Barb’s voice shouted.
“Ah, shit. She’s always ruining the fun,” Simon said as he and Sebastian sat down. “What are you doing here on a Sunday night, Mom?”
“Curtis and I were driving by and saw Zoey’s car in Carter’s driveway. I knocked, nobody answered, so I knew they’d be down here.” She smiled as she walked over to me and cupped my chin. “Everything good?”
“Everything is great, Aunt Barb. “My girlfriend and I are very happy.”
“That’s my boy. I’m happy for you both. Where is Jackson?” She looked around.
“Home with his wife and newborn baby,” Simon said.
“Good. I need some cuddle time. Sebastian and Simon, I’m warning you. Behave yourselves.” She pointed at them. “You’re far too old to be behaving that way. You’re not teenagers anymore.”
