"I just want everything to be perfect."

"And it is," he promised me. "Every part of tonight has been perfect. And the most perfect thing in the room is you."

I snorted. "Now that kind of flattery isn't going to work. You've seen enough of me to know it isn't true now."

"No, Aphie, I've seen enough of you to know that you're perfectly imperfect, and all the more special because of it."

My heart fluttered and I turned to him, not caring how it looked, or where we were. The feelings I had for him were too strong to ignore, even for another few hours. "I hope to be perfectly imperfect with you for a long time."

"I'd like that too," he responded, leaning in and pressing his lips against mine.

I sank into the kiss, feeling like I was the luckiest person in the room and wanting to make the most of every minute of that.

Aphrodite

A few months later

My stomach rumbled so loudly it was audible over the engine of the taxi.

Damien reached over and took my hand in his, giving it a squeeze. "Everything okay?"

I nodded. "I'm just hungry. I was putting out so many fires tonight that I never got a chance to eat."

He grimaced. "I should have noticed."

"You were helping me put out fires," I reminded him. "Despite the fact you weren't even working."

"Yes, but it does mean I got to spend the evening with you, and that I get to have fancy gyros now."

I chuckled. "You've become a convert."

"Oh, absolutely. There's nothing more fun than eating gyros while dressed all fancy with my girlfriend."

I beamed at him, loving hearing him say that.

The car pulled to a stop and another rumble escaped me. I paid for the cab and got out, the smell from Stef's shop only making the hunger inside me worse.

"Are you going to at least make me pay for them this time?" Damien asked as he reached my side, putting an arm around me.

"You know I'm not," I responded, leaning in to kiss his cheek. It was nice to have someone who knew both sides of me. The perfect goddess, and the woman who just loved to eat Greek street food at the end of the night.

The warmth of the shop travelled right through me as I entered, warming me from the inside out. "Hey, Stef," I said brightly.

"Ah, my two favourite customers," he responded.

I chuckled. "I bet you say that to everyone."

"You wouldn't say that if you'd seen the rest of the customers I've dealt with tonight. They're not nearly as well dressed as you are."

"Eating gyros deserves only the best outfit," I responded.

"It does," he agreed, handing one of the wraps over to me and starting on the next one for Damien.

"You'll add them to my tab, right?"
