“I’ll buy you ten, I don’t give a fuck.” He stalks over to me and reaches around so he can grab my arse. I squeal as I try to bat him off. “Enzo, we're already late,” I say laughing. Were interrupted by a knock on our hotel suite door. “That’s probably Hannah and James. I said they could ride with us”

He narrows his eyes at the door pulling me up against his body again. “Don’t think we're not finishing this later. I'm going to tear that dress off you with my teeth.” His words send shivers down my spine, it doesn’t matter how much time goes on. He always makes me feel as turned on as when I first met him.

I begrudgingly untangle myself from him. “Oh, you’d better,” I say with a wink as I open the door. Hannah looks lovely. She's in this cute floral print Zimmerman dress and the Louboutins she sighed at the other day. I had to go back and get them. Look, I’m marrying a billionaire, what's the point if I can't buy my best friend the shoes she wanted? What's his is mine right?

“I told you they would get the nicest suite.” She says, turning to James. He looks clean-shaven for once and his blonde hair freshly trimmed. I can't say I remember a time when his hair wasn’t scruffy as hell.

“Jesus Christ. It's bigger than our apartment.” He says taking in the room.

“Where’s my godson? I’ve mis-. Oh, there you are. Hello precious boy, your auntie Hannah missed you so much.” Hannah coos in that god-awful baby voice as she picks Ares up.

“Didn’t you see him a couple days ago?” Enzo asks as he straightens his cufflinks.

“She’s obsessed.” James drawls from the doorway.

“How could I not be? Look at him.” Hannah cries whilst she hugs Ares. She tilts her head at the police car toy in his hand and glances at Enzo. “Oh.” She says brightly. “Interesting choice.”

“Don't get me fucking started,” Enzo says just as Hannah presses the buttons which turns the sirens on and Ares mimics it.

“He chose it himself, I couldn't say no,” I say. Enzo’s mouth curves and he presses a kiss to the top of my head. Ares is already struggling to get down to the floor.

“I like those shoes, Hannah.” Enzo nods to her. See? This is why I love him, great taste.

Hannah kicks up a heel and grins to herself. “Why thank you. Cas got them for me.”

He crocks an eyebrow, gives me a knowing look. “Did she now?”

I pat his chest. “Well, technically you bought them.”

Enzo scoffs a laugh but Hannah looks enraged. “Cas!”

“What?” I ask, offended. “He doesn't mind, do you, babe?” I turn to him and his eyes are already on mine. He just shrugs nonchalantly. “What's mine is hers and evidently her best friends too.” I grin at him, he's getting the sex of his life tonight.

Hannah goes a bit red. “Thank you, Enzo.” Ares struggles away from Hannah again and she finally relents, allowing Ares to go back to his toys on the floor and rests her head on my shoulder. “I can’t believe Michael is actually getting married. He has grown up so quickly. I still remember him following us around begging for us to play Pokémon cards with him.”

I laugh at the memory of his Pokémon phase. Luckily he grew out of it before he got that Pikachu tattoo he kept talking about. “I know, it’s kinda freaking me out.”

“Shall we get going? I’m pretty sure we're running late.” James says, still lingering in the doorway.

We grab our stuff and we make our way to the venue. Leah asked if I could get ready with her but I'm not leaving Enzo's side whilst we're here. My anxiety spikes if I'm not with him and I don’t think he would appreciate getting ready with a load of women drunk on prosecco.

They’ve chosen not to get married in a church. Instead, they’ll be married in a hotel with a reception to follow at the same place. The décor is loud, proper in your face. Everything’s mirrored with diamonds. They’ve gone for autumnal colours and everything’s a bit garish but it screams Leah.

We take our seats at the front. Michael is standing at the altar in a navy blue suit. His brown hair slicked back and he looks so nervous. He's bouncing on his feet and his attention keeps snapping from the door to the altar. His eyes meet mine and I give him a big smile, mouthing, ‘You’re fine.’ He nods and looks away. I look around the crowd and my eyes instantly lock on two of Tom's friends. Charlie and Marcus. I knew some of his friends would be here as they were also Aleksy’s friends and Michael hung around with them too. This is the problem with our area, it’s so close-knit, everybody knows everyone.

Marcus keeps looking over to me eyeing Enzo suspiciously and I can see them looking at Ares. I tense immediately, anxiety crawling in. Enzo realises the tension as my breathing starts to quicken. “What is it?” He asks his own demeanour straightening.

“The two guys over there, at the back. They are Tom's friends. They keep looking over here.”

He turns his gaze on both of them and gives them a two-fingered wave and a smile that's more intimidating than welcoming. Marcus averts his eyes.

“You and Ares are safe.” He whispers in my ear, wrapping his arm around me. I start to relax as the music starts and we all stand to watch Leah walk in on her dad's arm. She's in a ballgown with an excessive trail, her auburn hair half up half down. She looks beautiful. Her pale skin glows with happiness. Her and Michael are looking at each other like they're the only people in the room. He starts to tear up when she reaches him and she kisses him giving him a reassuring squeeze. He whispers something in her ear and she blushes. My smile widens into a grin at seeing my brother so happy, seeing him so in love, finally getting his happy ending.

The ceremony starts and goes well until Michael messes up his vows and everyone has a laugh. They both say I do and Michael kisses her like his life depends on it. Everyone cheers and Leah throws her arms into the air and does a little victory dance. As they walk out, she spots me and lifts up her dress slightly to show me her shoes. I grin at her and she blows me a kiss.

Everyone makes their way to the reception, grabbing drinks on the way in. My mum and Steve find us straight away. My mum's eyes are puffy from crying. “Wasn't that lush? God, all my kids are growing up so fast.” She wipes at her eyes.

I give her a hug. “You’ve done well mum.” She looks up at me, I surpassed her height when I was sixteen. She's smiling but her eyes are sad and I know she's thinking of Alek. It's hard not to on a day like this. He should be here with us.
