She turns away, knees bent a little bit and shoves my arm. “Enzo, you're going to make me cry.” She says whilst already crying, covering her face with her other hand.

I wrap an arm around her neck and pull her into me. “Cas.” I laugh. “You're not meant to cry, it's meant to be a happy surprise.”

“It's a happy cry.” She sobs. “It's incredible. Thank you so much.” She pats her eyes.

I take her face in my hand and wipe the tears with a smile. “Anything for you, Vita Mia.”

She grins, big. “I love you.” Just as her mom reaches her and presses a massive kiss to her cheek and then mine.

I watch her with her family and mine. My future. I think about how far she's come, how hard she's had to fight to be who she is today. I’m in a constant state of awe with her. Can't believe she's real, can't believe she's mine. People throw mud on her and flowers grow. She wasn't just the anchor in the bedrock when I needed her, she was the bedrock of my entire universe. It all started and ended with her.
