My arms came up in a bear hug, causing him to howl in fresh pain as the broken ribs shifted beneath his skin. Grimm hopped back over the front of the bar and grabbed a towel from the top as he strode from the bar.

“Grab the keys, brother,” I murmured to our Enforcer. “I'll be out in a few.”

Carbon skipped past us and pulled a drawer out then twirled the keys around his finger as he left. “Beat him up good, boss.”

“Still ain’t your boss,” I grumbled as I dropped the deadweight in my arms to the floor.

The asshole only chuckled, letting the door slam on his way out.

“You got off light,” I said, addressing the man slumped at my feet. “Prez coulda made it way worse. And you don’t ever want to meet the dark wolf he got inside. Locals would’ve been finding your remains scattered about the countryside”

I swiped away the blood he’d left on my cut. That would stain. Wasn’t the first blood on my patches, but in the light of the full Blood Red Moon, it looked wicked. Fitting, even.

“Sasha asked real nice that we didn’t kill you.” I grabbed him by the ear and pulled him to his feet. “Imagine she wants that pleasure for herself ‘cause that girl is vicious when crossed. And you crossed her good, didn’t you?”

He nodded, meekly.

I dropped Victor again and gave him a swift kick between his splayed legs. Something soft and squishy popped. His scream cut through the silent air as he curled in on himself. “Be sure to keep out of our way, Victor Quinn. You hear bikes coming, I suggest you start running. Got me?”

Victor mumbled something through the whimpering. I brushed my hands together in satisfaction. I’d finally gotten the stubborn fool to the crying stage, it was always more fun when they held out.

“Can’t hear you,” I rumbled.

“Won't see me again.”

“You be sure of that. ‘Cause sometimes our boys, they get thirsty, and this bar ain't far from our territory. Hear what I’m saying?” I reached over the top of the bar and fished for another rag. “In fact, you should walk away from this business. It’s ours now. To do with as we please. We’ll let Sasha decide. She practically ran the place solo, didn’t she?”

I didn't wait for him to answer, just cleaned the blood off my fingers and tossed the rag on the bowed head of the man still blubbering on the floor. Then I walked out, my movements loose and easy.

“Let’s hit the house, man,” I murmured to Grimm as I passed. “I’m ready to be done with this shit. Ready to lose my sorrows in my mate.”

Grimm nodded to me as I threw my leg over the seat of my bike, and kicked it to life. Then I pulled my phone out.

I had all the club members on my phone. It was my job, after all, to keep the pack running for Grimm while he tended to other things. But I also had a list of the sweetbutts who stuck around long term and had assimilated into our pack.

Popcorn was by far my favorite club girl. Not only was she helpful and respectful, she’d also struck up an easy friendship with my mate early in his time with us. As an omega, Silver needed some down time from all the swinging dicks and macho bullshit that often went along with club business. Popcorn and her girls were his safe harbor when I was busy.

“Hey sweetheart.” I pressed the phone to my ear between my cheek and shoulder, fishing out a cigarette and lighting it up. “Need you and some of the girls to help me out. You busy?”

“I can drop it.” A growl of protest started up from whichever club member she’d been entertaining but Popcorn’s snarl in return shut the jerk up real quick. I chuckled. “What you got for me babe?”

“We need things for our new friends. Think you can run into town and grab some stuff?” I took a nice long drag, blowing it back out soft and smooth from my lips. “Take the card from Grimm’s office.”

“Anything specific?” I could hear her popping her gum as she made her way into the back of the clubhouse.

“You’d know better than me. Clothes, toiletries, chocolate. Whatever they need to start over.” I rolled my shoulders, popping the last of the tension from my body. I just wanted to get home and bury myself in my mate. Find that solace I could only really feel when Silver and I were connected.

“You got it babe.” The crack of her gum was the last thing I heard before the call cut off and I followed Grimm down the road to our last stop.

BLOOD BONDS ARE FOR KEEPS

Sasha

“Come here, Silver.” I crooked my finger right under his chin, guiding his lips back to mine. “Let's get to some of those plans of yours.”

“Which ones, little alpha?”
