I leaned in close to his ear and whispered, “To me, Silver, you’re not just anything.”

A beautiful sigh fell out of the man. I turned and captured Silver’s lips with mine, too fast for him to escape. The first burst of him on my tongue was like the rich shock of chocolate thrust upon my taste buds. I felt wild and reckless and oh so fucking ready to fly. Like I’d been starving myself of all that was good and joyful in this life for far too many years.

“Take me to your room, Silver,” I growled, my voice offering no room for negotiation. “I can’t—I can’t promise forever. But I want to feel—whatever this is, this draw between us—right now. Can you do that for me?”

“Mongrel—” A shadow of doubt washed over Silver’s face, and it pulled at something deep inside of me, making me hurt for him. Making me want to protect him—not only from this, but from every other little cut life would try to inflict upon him, too. “It’s his den, too.”

So, I’d been right. This was a package deal.

Could I do that? Could I share myself with two men?

I thought about Silver and Mongrel, and how my body burned whenever I saw them sharing a private moment together. Yeah. My body—not just the magic—responded to that heat. My heart, too. I wanted to bask in that beautiful intimacy. I may never have felt this way before about two different guys at the same time, but I’d be lying to myself if I tried to pretend it was something I didn’t want to explore. With them. My omega and his beta mate.

Could I really believe that this Blood Moon Goddess had brought all three of us together?

A deep primal part of me swelled in response to the beating magic living in this moment. I didn’t really know if Mongrel wanted me in that way. However, something in his touch last night had promised more than friendship.

It was solace. It was a warm hearth. It was carefully contained passion, waiting to be unleashed. Right beneath the surface.

And in the Prez’s office, I could feel Mongrel had followed me in to bolster me, too. To give me the strength so I could face Grimm in my own way. He’d even gotten up to defend me when the alpha’s temper had been sorely tested. And Grimm had immediately backed down.

That’s not how it would have gone with the Bone Crushers.

These wolves were different. In particular, these three wolves. I could feel it.

If Silver needed to know if I would be open to Mongrel’s affection, then I would offer him the truth. “Mongrel and I aren’t there yet, sweetheart.” His shoulders sagged and he nodded, nibbling on his lip. “But, I think—maybe one day soon—we could be. Do you want to wait?”

His head snapped up, beast front and center in his eyes.

“Fuck no,” Silver growled without hesitation. “Just don’t want to hurt him.”

“In this, I don’t think you could, even if you tried. Besides—” I teased. “—didn’t you tell Addy the Goddess doesn’t make mistakes?”

Silver sucked in a shaky breath, hope blazing in his eyes as he nodded. Once. Real slow. Like he was having difficulty wrapping his head around this conversation. Well, that made two of us. The Chaos had hit us all, hard and fast. It was turning our world upside down and inside out. But a quiet sense of peace was settling in my gut, alongside all the butterflies.

I smiled at the beautiful soul in front of me. “He’ll join us when he’s ready, sweetheart.”

I took another sipping kiss from his lips, relishing the truth in my words. The sentiment felt weighty—like a Gods-spoken truth—on my lips. If Mongrel walked in on us today, I knew I would welcome him without a moment's hesitation.

Maybe the wolves had it right and this was the hand of Fate in our lives. Grimm had said that the Chaos showed us to our mates but our human side got to choose. Well, Silver was my choice. Right here, right now.

Fate might have led the way, but this omega had always been mine. Because, in this moment, it felt simple. Something deeper was at play. Perhaps the Blood Moon not only blessed little wolves with their fated mates, but broken little humans, too.

CRY ME A RIVER

Grimm

I sat at my desk, head in my hand. One hundred percent focused on breathing. My wolf was completely riled. The animal would not settle and neither would my Goddess-cursed cock. Fucking thing practically wept at a glimpse of our mate but the sight of Sasha spitting mad? Yeah, that was a thing of beauty.

What I needed was a good fuck or a good fight. As only one of those was an actual option, getting my claws wet would have to appease my animal for now.

Mongrel shifted on the couch, pulling my attention from the closed office door to my Sgt. at Arms. Fucker was watching me with an amused smirk which faded from his lips when I gave him my best alpha stare. “We got eleven people upstairs,” Mongrel rumbled, getting down to business. “All need sorting.”

“We got more than eleven people,” I snarled back. “But yeah. Hate that so many ain’t got family to go back to.”

That was a headfuck.
