“It’s my name.” He held out a hand to shake, like he hadn’t just been squeezing me. Intimately. “This is where you tell me yours...” he prompted with a dimpled smirk.

“Sasha.” I looked down at his offered hand. His skin looked red, making it hard to tell if it was a trick of the moonlight or if his skin was actually stained in bodily fluid. After everything I’d witnessed tonight, I was guessing it was the latter. “Um, polite decline?”

For a moment, he looked offended, then looked down at his own hand. “Right. I haven’t had an opportunity to scrub up. I’m confident that most of it isn’t mine.” He shrugged, sheepishly. “Harrowing heroics and all.”

“I saw,” I teased. “You’re rather handy with a lighter.”

“Brother down. Need to get him to the Doc!”

The bellow came from the back of the clubhouse.

All eyes returned to the bonfire as a great beast of a man came stumbling round the side of the burning building with Benji cradled against his chest. I swallowed a cry of dismay.

Ash grey, the kid was slumped over. Talia was holding something against his gut as she trotted to keep up with the giant biker eating up the terrain between us. Wearing a cut turned inside out, Addy followed with a gun that looked far too large in her hands, trained on the inferno from which they had escaped.

I leaned against the van to pull off my hateful shoes, but Silver was already in motion running to help. All I knew was that I had to get to Benji. That guard was the only one who’d even cared if we lived or died. Plus, Talia looked like she was about to go crazy with grief. Maybe their connection was a two-way street after all?

“Shit, man,” Silver breathed.

The omega took over carrying Benji and hurried him back to the van. Bulletproof opened the trunk as our former guard was laid gently inside. Talia scrambled to follow but Addy turned sharply and aimed the enormous gun back into the gaping maw of the clubhouse.

A biker came sprinting out of the fire. Screaming as the flames ate at his flesh, he waved his gun at the lot of us, popping off two wild rounds before anyone could react. Luckily, his aim was shot to hell. Probably because the fucker had been transformed into a human torch.

Boom. The kick back knocked Addy off her feet. The beastly biker who’d helped them escape caught our girl before her ass hit the dirt.

“Good aim, sweetheart.” He steadied her respectfully then gave her space, ignoring the way she flinched instinctively from his touch. His voice was filled with pride, and she glowed under the attention. “Didn’t even sense that fucker coming.”

“Not coming now.” Addy rolled her shoulders and shot a cheeky wink at the grizzly man.

“Right,” he laughed, gruffly. “Well, what do you say we get you a smaller weapon?”

“No need, cousin.”

Addy patted her hip, where a knife stuck out of the little pair of sleazy lace panties she was wearing. I hid my smile under a cough but Viola barked out a laugh of relief at seeing the sass returned to our little spitfire.

“You take that off one of the assholes inside?” Grimm addressed her, equally respectful, taking his cue off the hulking shifter at her side.

Instead of shrinking in fear, Addy looked the alpha in the eye. “Yep,” she grinned, popping her “p.”

“What about that cut?”

There was a warning growl in his throat now. Even turned inside out, the alpha had spotted it was a Bone Crushers’ and his wolf was making it known he didn’t like their filth touching the young girl’s skin.

“It’s Benji’s,” Addy replied, ignoring his tone. “I’m just keeping it safe for him.”

“It should be burned,” Grimm spat on the ground and a chorus of snarls rose from his MC.

The girl shrugged like it was no skin off her nose. “And Benji will do that. If that’s what he decides.”

I didn’t miss the way she inched a little closer to the big guy for protection, though, as the conversation went down. The shrewd alpha didn’t either, but he simply nodded at her once in solemn approval. “Good girl.”

The Soul Reapers relaxed.

The newcomer’s eyes latched onto me as though he were only just sensing my presence. I crossed my arms over my chest and held my chin up as the big guy—Mongrel, according to his cut—barrelled my way and loomed over me.

I bit back an exasperated groan as I was hit—once again—with a wave of lust that I had absolutely no control over. Shit, what the hell had gotten into me?

Until I’d crashed landed in the alpha’s arms, sex had been the last thing on my mind. Survival and not getting my ass beat—unless I had to draw unwanted attention away from one of the others—were far higher up on my list of priorities.
