“And how’s your book?” she asked.

“Just finished the first draft and sent it off to my beta reader.” I winked at her.

“Ooh, I must check my email then! I can’t wait to see how it all comes together,” she said. “And have you heard back from the agent my editor put you in touch with?”

“I haven’t emailed them yet.”

Snow gave me a look.

“But give me a second to finish, it’s only because I wanted to have a complete first draft and hear what you think before I send it. I want to send them a good, clean copy.”

“Alright, I guess that will do,” she said. “But don’t get all up in your head like you’re prone to do. The book is good, Bash. Really, really good.”

I believed her, even if sometimes it was hard to read my own work. I knew I was my own worst critic, but I trusted Snow to be honest with me. She always had feedback and had helped me work through many plot holes over the last few months. I would never have finished the book without her help.

Snow’s career had really taken off, and she often thanked me and the other guys for it, but we knew it was all her. She could finally devote her time to writing and travel, and she had a very successful regular column with a magazine about her crazy life in the mountains with the seven of us. The article gave the resort a lot of positive press and bookings were through the roof. We were even talking about expanding. Although she credited us with helping her, she had helped us as well.

She kissed me again, this time letting her lips linger on mine. Holding her in my arms and feeling her body pressed against me caused all kinds of tingling feelings. I knew I was known to fall pretty easily, but things were different with Snow, she was obviously special to all of us. I had fallen head over heels for this beautiful, amazing woman and we often spent our evenings writing together, an activity I used to think could only be done alone. But she was my muse, my inspiration, and my editor all rolled into one. I never expected to find the perfect partner, but there she was, and soon, we would be a family.

A very large, crazy family with seven dads, but I was confident we could make it work. And Snow had told me that producers had already contacted her about turning our life into a reality show, something she had turned down, because she preferred the written word and her privacy. We all did. We loved the articles, we loved the attention it brought to our resort and to modern love and sex, but we preferred keeping it in writing.

Thankfully, Snow was making a killing with her column, and there was no sign of her contract with the magazine coming to an end. She could live her dream at last, and I loved that for her.

“I love you,” I said, the words slipping out before I even had a chance to think about them.

Snow’s eyes widened and tears began to form. Happy tears, I could only assume.

“Bash… I love you too,” she said. “I’ve realized, over the last few months, that I love all of you, is that weird?”

“No, Snow, it’s not weird at all. I think we expected it, I know for certain we hoped for it. The love that you give to all of us is amazing and makes things a lot easier.”

Not all of the guys had expressed their feelings out loud, as a matter of fact, I think I was the first to say those words to her. None of us wanted her to feel like she ever had to choose, but it was becoming clear that we all loved our little princess, and we were all very happy to share her.

Snow got a text message and pulled away from our embrace. She smiled at her phone. “It’s Rosie, she’s going to be here soon,” she said.

Rosie was coming over to help prepare for the gender reveal the next day. She was the only one who knew whether we were going to have a little girl or a little boy. Snow was hoping for a girl so she wasn’t the only female in the gang, and to be honest, having a daughter sounded wonderful. Then again, I knew no matter what the gender was, we would all be grateful to have a healthy, happy child.

Petey rubbed against my legs and purred. I picked him up and snuggled him as Snow responded to Rosie. I had always loved cats but had never owned one. Snow had encouraged me in other ways than just writing—I adopted a cat for myself, and I loved how he would snuggle in my lap while I wrote.

I moved to the mountains, in the middle of nowhere, to get away from my controlling family and to build a life for myself. Who knew that in the process of it all, I would build a family of my own.

Snow finished responding to Rosie then kissed me again, planting a kiss on the top of Petey’s head as well.

“I’m so excited to have Rosie over, hopefully she meets a Prince Charming or two of her own this time,” Snow said.

“Here’s hoping,” I replied, placing Petey back on the floor and enveloping Snow in my arms. “Because everyone deserves a happily ever after.”

Another morning, another meeting. And though some of the guys came in looking sleepy, things were a little brighter than usual that morning.

Snow was in her normal spot, now a fixture amongst the group. She helped with the decisions and offered insight into how we could make the resort a safer, more comfortable place for women.

On that morning, Rosie was also there, joining us with a huge smile on her face. She had brought a cake, and from what I was told, Snow would cut into the cake and based upon the color inside, we would find out the gender of our baby. That was the reason why everyone had arrived early, eagerly staring at the cake as I tried to get the boring business taken care of first.

Truth be told, I was nervous.
