“We are on a dangerous mission, one fraught with violence.” Eurig sighed and pulled her back to his chest. “I worry what will happen if we are unable to save the Court. If the Wilde Fae invade the castle...we could end up as prisoners. Orworse.”
“Or we could win,” Bree said, a new determination shooting through her gut. They would get through this. Not only for the others but for each other, too. “Don’t give up hope, Eurig. We’re a good team, don’tforget.”
A lazy smile spread across his face. “That weare.”
“Besides,” she said, half-teasing, half-serious, “you’re one of my mates now. That means you’re stuck with me forawhile.”
Eurig met Bree’s grin with one of his own. “I wouldn’t have it any otherway.”
