I turn and let my gaze drop over her. Of course, I didn’t. In fact, I’d rather keep her in that robe her entire stay here. “I’ll have my assistant make you an appointment with one of the in-house stylists this afternoon?”

When I take out my phone to text Mason, I see he’s actually been calling me all morning. Two missed calls and three texts.

“You’re sending someone here?” Andie asks.

“Yes,” I reply as I read them.

Mason: Mr. Tadesco is insisting on seeing you.

Mason: I told him you’re booked, but he’s not giving up.

Mason: Any chance you’re on the way in?

Slipping my phone into my pocket, I say to Andie, “They can take measurements to provide you with eveningwear.”

“You’re taking me somewhere fancy?” Her brows arch in surprise.

“I am. So be ready at eight and don’t make dinner.”

“Okay.”

“I’ll see you this evening.”

“Wait!” she calls out when I make to leave. “The stylist, is it someone from The Red’s staff?”

I frown. “It is.”

She bites her lower lip in that nervous way she has. “Can you get someone else. I… I don’t want them to see that I’m your...”

“My what?”

“I have a kid now,” she says as if that should explain everything. When it doesn’t, she adds, “It wouldn’t have mattered before. But I can’t risk anyone seeing me out and saying something in front of her. She can never know that I was?—”

“Mine,” I finish for her. “That’s all you are, and that’s all anyone needs to know. Anyone in my employment is too smart to question it or gossip. Is that understood?”

A quick nod tells me she does. “I’ll be waiting, then.”

I’ve barely stepped into the elevator when my phone rings. “What is it?” I ask, unable to keep the annoyance from my tone.

“Sir,” Mason says. “Mr. Tadesco is requesting to speak with you.”

“What the fuck? Tell him I’ll call him later.”

“Actually, he’s not on the phone. He’s at the reception desk downstairs. Says he’s going to start talking there if you don’t agree to meet with him.”

My jaw almost cracks with how hard I’m grinding my teeth. “Cancel anything I have for the next two hours. Have security escort him to my office. I’ll be there in fifteen minutes.”

“Yes sir.”

As soon as I hang up, I dial Patrick. “We have a problem.”

He blows out a breath. “Don’t tell me. The alliance is calling you back.”

“Worse. Marco Tadesco is in the building and I can’t get him out until I listen to whatever the fuck he has to say. I don’t want a scene. But once I do get him to leave, you make sure he stays the fuck out. Is that clear?”
