I pull the trigger, and brain matter paints the wall behind him. Then I calmly grab Skye’s hand and lead her to the door. Before stepping out into the fresh air, I stop and turn around to face the two dead sinners.

“Go forth, sinners' souls, from this world. May you suffer in darkness, may your home be in Hell, and may the Devil fuck you with his horns.”

EPILOGUE

SKYE

Six months later…

“You wanted to see me, boss?”

Tony leans against the office door frame, grinning. I lean back in the chair and wave him inside. When Waylon was fired from his position as manager, Rogue and the club approached me about taking over the position, saying they thought I’d be the perfect fit.

There’s no reason to beat around the bush, so I dive right in. “How would you feel about being assistant manager?”

“Are you shitting me?”

“Nope.” I hand him some paperwork. “I need someone I can trust.”

After I became manager, Rogue urged me to confide in someone besides the club about my disability. He still feels bad the way I was outed, but if Violet had never pressed the issue, we wouldn’t be where we are today. RaRa and Tony have always been great friends, so I started with them.

“I’m your man.”

“Better not let Rogue hear you say that,” RaRa warns as he walks past.

Tony’s face pales, and he whips his head around to make sure Rogue isn’t lurking by.

“RaRa, quit screwing with him,” I yell. “Rogue isn’t even coming in today.”

Tony sighs with relief. “I’d love to be the assistant manager.”

“Yay!” I cheer. “Rogue and Violet have been helping me learn techniques to improve my math skills, but I’m still struggling. Rogue will still do the books at the end of the month, but I might need help counting the drawers at night, especially on chaotic days. You’ll also be able to discipline the staff, order inventory, and bring in new talent for entertainment. Other duties to be determined at a later time.”

“Anything you need,” he promises.

I’ve made a couple of slight changes that have resulted in business picking up even more. To honor our Badass Bitches Club, we now have ladies’ night once a month. It’s brought in more clientele, not only on that one night but every other night too. More women are comfortable with Purgatory now.

We’ve hired more security to help out so it isn’t always falling on Grim’s shoulders. Sure, he still likes to slam heads around occasionally, but he can enjoy time with his wife while she’s here, as he should. It’s really helpful on nights that Apple performs because the crowd gets rowdy very quickly. Now that Tony has agreed to be the new assistant manager, some of the load will fall off my plate.

“Good.” I grin at him. “You start today.”

“Today?”

“Today,” I confirm. “Let’s go tell the rest of the staff.”

Telling the others goes smoothly, and everyone offers Tony heartfelt congratulations. There isn’t too much time to celebrate because we have to open for business. Once we do that, both Tony and I hightail it behind the bar, and business is steady throughout the night.

“Tomorrow, we’re looking for another bartender,” I holler over the band who’s playing live.

“Agreed,” Tony yells back.

The next morning, I rush over to Persuasion Ink to discuss an idea with Possum. Locking the car door, I push open the door, and the familiar bell rings over my head. The sound of tattoo guns fill the air, and calmness washes over my body.

I definitely need this.

Possum peeks his head out of his room. “Yo, Skye, what brings you in today?”

“I need a favor.”
