Rogue nibbles on my inner thigh, his hot breath brushing over my skin before moving to the other side. It’s complete torture, but what a way to go. He looks up at me with a cocky grin and slowly lowers his mouth to my slit. His tongue jets out…

Beep, beep, beep.

I bolt upright, panting. Groaning, I turn off the alarm on my phone with a sigh. It feels like I just fell asleep, but according to my clock, I’ve been out for seven hours. I drag myself out of bed and shower before heading out to run the errands I’ve been putting off.

Stopping at the grocery store first, I stock up on the essentials and return home to put things away and do some light cleaning. Then I run to Walmart to get a calculator to keep in my locker at work. I know Rogue said he was ordering some, but I feel better knowing where one is if any of them get misplaced or taken home by coworkers by mistake.

Yawning, I check my phone and realize I don’t have time to go back home and take a nap before my shift, but I do have time to stop at the boutique to finally get the inserts that Jez was telling me about. When I park in front of Naughty/Nice, I climb out of the car and lock it before heading inside.

A cool breeze hits my face when I step through the door of the shop. The heat in Nevada is no joke.

Dry heat my ass. Hot is fucking hot.

“Welcome to Nau—,” Cece says, looking up from the computer and seeing me, a smile spreading across her face. “What’re you doing here?”

“I hear you can help a girl out.”

“Short black dress or sexy lingerie?” she teases.

“Um… neither.”

Her brow arches. “Color me intrigued.”

“A couple of weeks ago, Jez told me about some insoles you stock that might help me since I’m on my feet all night.”

She scowls. “And you’re just now coming to see me?”

I laugh, knowing she’s not really mad at me. “Girl, what can I say? The bar is always busy, and when I finally get time off, I chill at home, eating leftovers and binge watch old ass tv shows and movies.”

“Sounds perfect to me. Between Harper and Soul, I’d kill for a little peace and quiet.”

“Liar. You love it.”

Her face beams with pride. “You’re right, I do.”

She hands me a pair to try, and I tug my boots off and slip the inserts in. I put them back on, and walk around in circles, bouncing back and forth on my feet.

“These are amazing.”

“I know, right?”

“Can I wear them out?”

“Sure. Let’s ring you up.”

I follow her to the register, and my eyes land on an off-the-shoulder see-through silk purple blouse with a built-in black bra. I grab one in my size and drop it on the counter before I can talk myself out of it. Besides the tattoo, I hardly ever splurge on frivolous things. I send a lot of my money to my grandma to help her out with bills.

“I’ll take this too.”

“Wow! You’ll look hot in this,” Cece says, handing me my purchase. “You should come hang out with us girls some time.”

“I’d love to.”

“Text me when you have your schedule, and we’ll plan something epic.”

“That sounds like trouble,” I say with a chuckle. “Speaking of schedules, I better get to work.”

“Bye!” Cece calls out as I leave.
