They'd decided to grill burgers outside at the Garage on Saturday. Yesterday she called the grocery store to order everything. She'd pick it all up Saturday morning.

Her computer chimed the incoming email and the subject line excited her. "You have a booking".

Eagerly opening the email she squealed in delight. She had her first booking for her little bungalow for a whole week. She read through the reservation, saw they'd paid the required deposit to hold it, and they'd left a comment at the bottom asking if there were blow dryers and a coffee maker in the home.

Quickly replying, "You should find everything you need in the bungalow. Blow dryers in both bathrooms, coffee maker, toaster, dishes and pots & pans in the kitchen and basic utensils. I'm looking forward to your stay."

Her heart beat erratically and she jumped up from her chair and moved around the house to burn off some of her excitement. She'd work extra hard this week to get the second bungalow finished. She was finally on her way. Living with Sid had certainly eased some of the financial burden as far as she and Chiefy were concerned. Plus, she loved him. She enjoyed their time together. She once again ran her hand over the gleaming cool granite counter tops here in the house and smiled. She lived in a house like this and it was surreal.

Moving to the bedroom, she stepped in as Sid was pulling a t-shirt over his head. His head poked through the shirt and he grinned. "Are you watching me get dressed?"

"Yes."

Chiefy trotted into the room and looked up at him. "I'm going to start charging admission soon."

Grace laughed. "What will that cost me? I'll have to save up."

"I'll think of something." He scooped her off her feet and swung her around. As he set her feet back on the ground, he kissed her just like she liked it. Soft. Slow. Wet. It was perfect.

He swatted her butt lightly, and she giggled. "You ready for breakfast?"

"Yes." He patted Chiefy on the head, nuzzled with her which prompted her to flop on the floor and show him her belly. Sid laughed and obliged her belly rub and Grace watched happily.

"I got my first rental guests."

He chuckled. "That's awesome. When is your reservation for?"

"Next month."

"There you go, Grace. It's the start and what you've been waiting for. Congratulations. Wanna celebrate tonight?"

"What did you have in mind?"

"I thought we could sit in the Florida room with a couple glasses of wine and chat."

She smiled. "I'd love that."

She pulled eggs from the refrigerator and a pan from the cupboard. "Scrambled or fried today?"

"Scrambled sounds good."

"Coming right up."

Sid peeled an orange while she beat the eggs in a bowl. They'd fallen into a sweet routine this past week and she felt happier than she'd ever felt in her life. There had been great moments in her life, but she didn't remember them bringing her this much joy. But, it wasn't just joy, it was peace.

Sid set plates on the table and poured them each a cup of coffee. As they sat at the table, Sid scooped scrambled eggs from the pan and said, "The bikers tried breaking into the grocery store last night. Two of them are in jail this morning."

"How did you hear that?"

"Quinn."

"I've wondered about them. They've been rather quiet this week."

"Yeah. When they're quiet, I worry they’re plotting."

"I agree. It's almost as if it's scarier when they're quiet."

"Yep."
