I rolled my eyes as squeals erupted when Devon and I walked into the clubhouse carrying suitcases. Jemini, Bloome, MyAnna, and Kalissa were standing around talking. MyAnna was holding a bundle wrapped in a blue blanket, rocking the baby back and forth.

“I think you’ve met all the hens so far, right?” I asked Devon as we approached the group.

“Hens?” Kalissa asked. “I thought we were the old ladies.”

Devon wrinkled her nose. “Old ladies?”

“It’s a term for the women in committed relationships with the men in the club,” MyAnna said. “I find the term crude as well, so we don’t really use it around here.”

I wrapped my arm around Devon’s shoulders. “You wanna be my old lady?”

She grinned up at me. “Sure. You can call me whatever you want.” She waggled her eyebrows at me.

“We’re not hens,” Jemini said, rolling her eyes.

“At least we don’t have to take on some lame club nickname,” Bloome said, and the girls laughed.

“What would I be called then?” Kalissa asked.

“Wolf Mama,” Bloome said with a wink.

“I can’t believe you let them call you Face,” Devon said, her eyes sparkling with amusement.

I pulled her closer and bit back a grin. “Well, I wanted Dick C. Normus but the boss wouldn’t sign off on it. You know, Dick for short.”

The girls groaned and I chuckled.

“You’re so bad,” Devon said. She leaned up and whispered in my ear, “But that name would have been totally accurate.”

MyAnna and Jemini made scoffing noises. “Gross,” Jemini said, making a face.

Damn vampire hearing.

“I know you’re not talking about your dick in front of my woman,” Viper said, walking up and putting his good arm around MyAnna’s shoulders.

“Of course not,” I said cheekily. “How’s the shoulder?” I pointed to it.

He rolled his shoulder in a circle. “Stiff but getting better every hour.”

“You wanna hold him?” MyAnna asked Vane.

He made a face. “He’s cute but I’ll pass.”

“My turn,” Jemini said, rubbing her hands together and then out for the baby.

I got closer and looked down at the sleeping infant. He looked the same as he did in the photos, and his heart was beating so fast. He smelled good enough to eat and that was my cue to exit stage left. I didn’t know how Jemini had such restraint.

“Cute kid. Congratulations,” I said to Kalissa before grabbing Devon’s hand and leading her up to my apartment.

“Keep it down once you get up there, the baby’s sleeping!” Bloome called out, giggling.

Devon’s eyes went wide. “Oh, my God. You guys can hear each other doing the nasty in here, can’t you, with all these vampires around?”

I chuckled and pointed to my nightstand. “Top-of-the-line noise-canceling headphones.”

“Better order me some, too,” she murmured as she set her bag down and looked around. “Quaint, I like it.”

I shrugged and hung my jacket up on the hook on the back of the door. “Thanks. I don’t spend too much time up here, just sleeping and showering.” I turned around and Devon was standing right in front of me.
